| Module content | This course presents optical networks from a practical perspective. Strong emphasis is placed on contemporary topics such as fibre theory, components, transmission systems and networks. Operational matters such as survivability, management and deployment considerations are also addressed. A substantial practical component will include optical time-domain reflectometry and familiarisation. |
